There are numerous commercial fertilizers available and your choice will depend on your own preference and the plants you have selected. Slow release tablets inserted into the basket at planting have become very popular, as they are safe and can last for an entire season. Water solubles work equally as well, but require mixing. Follow your garden center’s recommendation on feeding based on the plants you have chosen. Then be sure to follow the fertilizer manufacturer’s instructions. Over feeding or under feeding will have no effect on the liner, but could cause problems with the plant and or soil mix. If you should accidentally over feed your basket, flush it with water until the excess fertilizer has been leeched through the soil. |
